The Kenya Simbas will kick off their Rugby Africa Cup campaign with a quarterfinal match against Senegal. The showdown is set to occur at the Mandela National Stadium in Nambole, Uganda on Saturday, July 20, 2024.

If Kenya advances past the West African team, they will proceed to face the winner of the match between Algeria and Ivory Coast in the semi-final on Wednesday, July 24. The tournament’s final day is scheduled for Sunday, July 28, also in Nambole.

The Kenya Rugby Union has announced the 2024 squad, which includes former Kenya Sevens international Johnstone Olindi, now playing his club rugby in Canada.

Additionally, players such as Andrew Siminyu, Malcolm Onsando, Thomas Okeyo, Edward Mwaura, Clinton Juma, Samson Onsomu, Beldad Ogeta, and Emmanuel Silungi, who participated in the Rugby Super Series, return to the squad after missing out on last year’s internationals.

Timothy Okwemba, who was last capped in 2019, also makes a return to the team. However, players such as John Okoth, Vincent Onyala, Brian Tanga, Samuel Asati, and Lamech Ambetsa are currently with the Shujaa team, preparing for the Olympic Games.
