Sheryl Gabriella Recalls How Relatives Treated Her Family During Dad’s Burial: “We Had Small Money”

Kenyan TikToker Sheryl Gabriella got emotional in a raw, confessional video posted on September 8, 2026, recounting how relatives treated her family during her father’s burial, an experience she clearly did not expect.

Filming herself in what appears to be a bedroom setting, Sheryl spoke directly to her followers in a tearful tone, expressing shock at the way family members behaved once they discovered she had come with limited funds.

“I wish you guys had followed me to my dad’s funeral. I don’t want to treat you because I had small, small money. The way they were treating us is not the way they treated us years back when we did not have money,” she said.

She went on to say the change in attitude was entirely driven by money, noting that relatives who had treated them differently before were now acting out because they sensed she had some financial means.

“They were not treating us the same because we found small, small money. I don’t know how to treat you,” she added.

What happened to Sheryl Gabriella

The video did not emerge in a vacuum. Sheryl had recently appealed to her online following for financial support to help bury her father, but the response from Kenyans was largely unsympathetic.

Many users refused to assist, pointing to a previous incident in which she had described people as broke and claimed she was earning KSh 500,000 per week.

The backlash effectively shut down her fundraising efforts, and the burial went ahead without the public support she had hoped for.

Now, having gone through the funeral, she returned to social media with this emotional account of what unfolded among family members at the event.
