Wambo Ashley had zero interest in entertaining questions about her love life at a Nairobi press event on Tuesday, 29 September 2026, shutting down a reporter who pushed her to consider getting back together with fellow content creator Nicholas Kioko.
In a viral video from the event, Wambo can be seen fielding questions from a group of journalists holding branded microphones.
The atmosphere was light and playful until one reporter brought up the elephant in the room, telling her that fans had been sending messages asking her and Kioko to reconcile.
Her response was swift and unmistakable:
“Bye.”
She then thanked the host before stepping away entirely, leaving the reporters calling after her.
Wambo and Nicholas Kioko’s split
Wambo Ashley and Kioko confirmed their separation on September 14 through a joint statement, drawing a close to a relationship that had lasted four years.
The pair revealed that they had actually stopped living together roughly three months before making the news public, meaning the split had been in progress since around June.
In the period immediately following the announcement, the two continued sharing the same roof temporarily while Wambo arranged her own space. She has since moved into her own house, marking a clean break from the life they had built together.
The two were among Kenya’s most followed digital content creator couples, and their separation sparked significant conversation online, with many fans hoping for a reconciliation. Based on Wambo’s reaction at the press event, that outcome appears unlikely any time soon.
Earlier in the same interview, reporters had also asked her about phone privacy in relationships and whether she would allow a partner to go through her device, a question she fielded with visible amusement.
When they tried to determine whether she was currently single or dating, she deflected with a smile, telling them her business was her own. It was only when the Kioko question came up directly that her patience ran out.
