Police in Ugenya, Siaya County are investigating the death of a 25-year-old man said to have been assaulted by unknown people in Nyalenya on Friday.
George Amenya’s body was found lying in his mother’s kitchen on Sunday and he is suspected to have succumbed to injuries.
According to the Siaya County Police Commander Cleti Kimaiyo, the area chief Joachim Oyilo reported the matter to the police, who visited the home and found Amenya’s body already transferred to his mother’s sitting room.
The body had bruises on both knees and the right knee had a bandage, police said.
Kimaiyo further noted that their preliminary findings established that Amenya had been under medication after the Friday assault.
The body was taken to a private mortuary in Siaya town awaiting post-mortem.
