Kenyan club host and content creator Ciggie Johnson has broken his silence on one of the most pressing questions Kenyans have had since his paternity scandal erupted: will he still pay school fees for the child?

Ciggie sat down with Oga Obinna in a tense, candid interview for the Obinna Show Live, where he addressed the fallout from a DNA test that revealed he is not the biological father of a 12-year-old girl he has raised and financially supported since birth.

The revelation first went public on Saturday, 3 October 2026, when Ciggie posted an emotional video on Instagram showing a phone call in which he confronted the child’s mother about the results.

The post quickly went viral, with Kenyans flooding the comments to ask what would happen next, particularly regarding the child’s education.

Ciggie’s conditions for continuing to support the child

In the Obinna Show interview, Ciggie made his position clear, and it hinged almost entirely on the mother.

“If the mother was nice to me, why not?” he said, when asked whether he would continue providing for the child.

He did not hold back his feelings toward the woman, describing her as “a bitter pill” and stating bluntly that he could not stand her sight, her voice, or their shared existence.

He acknowledged that a bond with the child does exist after 12 years, but argued that the bond was “created under false pretences” and that he was never given a genuine chance to love the child freely.

“I was blackmailed to eat,” he said, referring to how he was pressured into accepting the child as his own.

Despite the bitterness, Ciggie left a door open for the child herself.

“If the child calls me directly, without even her mother’s consent, I’ll give the child whatever,” he said. He added that if the child reached out asking for school fees, addressing him simply as “sir” rather than “dad,” he would respond without hesitation. “I do anything for the child,” he said.

The pain behind the anger

Ciggie admitted that when the DNA results first came in, part of him had hoped the child was his. “I wanted the child to be mine,” he said quietly during the interview, before the conversation turned sharp again.

He also challenged the notion that a bond built over years is unbreakable. “How many people have you loved and loved not? What happened to the bond?” he asked rhetorically, pointing out that emotional ties do not automatically survive betrayal.
